Danish Alps SRA, Kramper Lake celebrate 10 years
Mark your calendar and plan to join us on Aug. 16 for a day of free activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Danish Alps State Recreation Area near Hubbard. Fall turkey permits on sale starting Aug. 11
It's a sign that fall is drawing closer: hunters can begin purchasing turkey permits at 1 p.m. Central time on Aug. 11 for the fall season, which runs Oct. 1 to Nov. 30. Permits are valid statewide, with a limit of one fall permit per hunter. For complete details on the fall turkey season in Nebraska, check out the 2025 Turkey Guide.

A few spots remain in BOW program
A few spots remain in our Oct. 3-5 Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program. This three-day workshop is held at scenic Fort Robinson State Park and is open to women of all ages who want to learn outdoor skills in a low-pressure, supportive environment. Sessions are taught by expert instructors and most equipment is supplied. Grab your besties and sign up for those last spots today!

State park spotlight: Niobrara
Now is a great time for a visit to Niobrara State Park. This peaceful prairie park features numerous attractions: incredible sunrise and sunset views, easy access to fishing and boating opportunities, miles of trails to explore and a variety of lodging options.  Scottsbluff women's intro to fishing
It's ladies' night for fishing on Aug. 11 at the Riverside Discovery Center in Scottsbluff as our BOW program hosts an introduction to fishing event. Learn the basics of fishing; all equipment and bait provided. Join in the fun and be sure to bring your camera to capture your catch and your new fishing friends.

 Trail Trek challenges continue in August
