John – Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve their communities – they shouldn't have to jump through bureaucratic hoops to get the medical care they need.
This week, I introduced the Parkinson's Protection for Fire Fighters Act of 2025 to fix that.
Firefighters are at increased risk of developing Parkinson's disease due to exposure and injury in the line of duty, but until now, the federal government has refused to help.
Now, this bill officially defines Parkinson's as a job-related illness, provides medical coverage, and increases support for all former firefighters facing this serious disease.
My dad was a firefighter, and I couldn't be more honored to introduce this strong bipartisan bill into the House. This is the least we can do for our frontline heroes who risk their lives for our communities.
