I value directness, and I hope you do too. So I’m going to be direct:

I don’t look like your typical member of Congress. And I’m proud of it.

I’m the only LGBTQ+ Native American woman ever elected to Congress. Unlike most of Washington, I don’t come from generational wealth. And I’m one of just a handful of Democrats who represents a red state.

But here’s the cold, hard truth: National Republicans desperately want to replace me with someone who doesn’t stand out. Someone who will mindlessly toe the GOP party line. Someone who is woefully out-of-touch with the real needs of working families.

If we’re going to defeat them, we need to get our message out all across the district — about all I’ve accomplished for Kansas, and about the very real stakes of this election if we lose.

The truth is, that will require resources — resources that we don’t yet have. That’s why I need to ask: Can I count on you to pitch in $5 (more if you can!) to help me defend this competitive district?
