Back in 2021, the social isolation was getting to us, but Metrobar had just opened its doors with 11,000 square feet of pandemic-friendly outdoor space. And so, the GGWash Fall Mixer was born. I vividly remember the energy of that evening. People were almost giddy to see each other in-person for the first time in a year or more.
Now, in 2025, we're hosting the fifth Fall Mixer. While a lot has changed in the last few years, the Fall Mixer has remained a constant: a fun, welcoming night out with hundreds of friends, new and old, in support of GGWash's mission. It's become one of my favorite nights of the year.
I hope you'll join us for the GGWash Fall Mixer from 5:00-9:00pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Metrobar in Northeast DC. Until 8:00pm, it's kid-friendly -- no need for a babysitter. We'll have crafts for the littlest transit fans, who can ride along for free.
Tickets start at just $30, which includes one drink. The majority of each ticket sale directly supports GGWash -- especially our work that isn't directly or fully funded by grants. Most visibly, that's the blog: it's such an important platform for elevating housing, transportation, and land use issues, and reader support is the reason we've been publishing content for 17 years and counting.
