Welcome Back!

We hope you had a restful and restorative summer.

Before our break, we wrapped up our 89th Legislative Updates webinar with over 100 of you joining us. Thank you for showing up!

Since then, we’ve been hard at work updating materials and developing new resources to help make your job easier this fall. We’ll share more details in this newsletter and in the coming weeks.

A standout resource this month is our SB 12 one-pager. Senate Bill 12 (SB 12) introduces significant changes to K–12 public and charter education across the state. For a quick and clear overview of SB 12, we've created concise one-pagers available in both English and Spanish, ready for download.

There’s more to come, but for now, we just wanted to say thank you for your continued partnership.

Let’s make this a strong start to the year!

HFTX Classroom: Your New Learning Hub

We’re excited to introduce HFTX Classroom, a new online learning platform designed to help build skills and confidence on your own schedule.

This platform is a direct response to feedback Texas is Ready has heard through surveys and conversations with many of you about the need for accessible, high-quality training for teachers and school partners. HFTX Classroom delivers exactly that!

Built on Healthy Futures of Texas’ decades of experience supporting health education across the state, HFTX Classroom offers the trusted, high-quality training you expect, in a flexible, self-paced format. Current courses include topics like how to build support for sex ed in your community (Why Sex Ed?) and how to respond to questions from students (Responding to Questions).

As a part of the Texas is Ready community, you're eligible for $10 off any module between now and September 30th, 2025. Use code LAUNCH10 when registering.

You can also check out our free module, SHACs 101, to learn more about building and running SHACs! Stay tuned for more courses, and if you want training on something in particular, let us know.

Guiding the Next Chapter

Healthy Futures of Texas recently announced a leadership transition.

Evelyn Delgado, who has served as CEO since 2017, has retired and will continue in an advisory role through October. We’re deeply grateful for her years of leadership and impact.

Stepping into the role of Chief Executive Officer is Ginger Mullaney, who previously served as the organization’s Chief Mission Officer. Ginger brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to advancing the mission of Healthy Futures of Texas across the state.

August Linkedin Live Event

Join us for a LinkedIn Live event as we unpack what the 89th Texas Legislative Session means for school-based sexual health education, and why it matters to educators, school leaders, and youth-serving organizations across Texas.

Our panelist will break down key policy updates and spotlight free tools like iCHAMPSS, an online resource developed by UTHealth Houston to help schools adopt and maintain sexual health education programs. iCHAMPSS is also part of a current study recruiting Texas public schools, offering a unique opportunity to participate in research that supports effective program implementation.

We will also share how Texas is Ready can support you with additional resources and guidance.

Whether you’re working directly with students in schools or supporting them through community organizations, this conversation will equip you with the insights and resources needed to take action this school year.

We’re excited for this next chapter and what it means for the work ahead!
