REMINDER: Urge HHS Secretary Kennedy to Protect the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force
Dear Partners,
This is a reminder that Families USA, SEIU and partner organizations invite your organization to sign onto a letter [[link removed]] urging Secretary Kennedy to defend the mission of the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and preserve it in its entirety. The letter will close on Monday, August 11th at 12pm ET.
For over 40 years, the USPSTF has served as an independent panel of experts with the purpose of making unbiased, evidence-based recommendations about clinical practice. These recommendations help primary care providers know which preventive services to recommend for their patients and directly influences which preventive services health plans make available to Americans without cost sharing. Their work is foundational to a health care system that values prevention, equity, and affordability. However, widespread news reports indicate that HHS Secretary Kennedy is considering replacing the current USPSTF members en masse, without transparent and evidence-based justification.
The letter will be open for sign-on until Monday, August 11th at 12pm ET . This letter is open to organizational sign-ons only. For individuals wishing to make their voice heard, Prep for All has a tool [[link removed]] for individuals to send a letter to Congress.
