The year 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution in 1775. One interesting aspect of the war is the position of Anglicanism and the Anglican clergy. For Anglicans, the revolt against the Crown was, in fact, a rebellion against the “the Supreme Governor” of the church.

The Reformed Episcopal Seminary was founded in 1877 in the heart of Philadelphia to prepare students for service to the church. For nearly 150 years, it has welcomed scholars from diverse backgrounds and all parts of the wider Anglican world.
RES recently moved to its new campus in Oreland, a short, comfortable train ride to center city, allowing students, faculty, and guests to visit Philadelphia’s historic sites, cultural institutions, and universities in 30 minutes or less.
