Commercial Fishing Advisory Board to hold virtual August meeting

CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Commercial Fishing Boat Advisory Board will have its third meeting at 6 p.m. on Aug. 12. The meeting will be livestreamed virtually.

While no in-person option will be available for this meeting, it will be live streamed on Zoom [ [link removed] ]. Comments will be taken via Zoom at the end of the meeting.  A recording of the meeting and minutes will be available upon request afterwards.

The seven-member advisory board will continue to discuss potential recommendations that will be presented to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission for final review and approval later this year.

This board's formation follows the passage of_ _House Bill 5 [ [link removed] ]_,_ which authorizes Game and Fish to create rules to regulate commercially-guided fishing boats in the state. The intent for the board is to provide local perspectives and develop recommendations to enhance fishing conditions, and address waterway congestion stemming from commercial guide boat activity.

The board will meet with the Game and Fish  Commission in September to discuss their recommendations. Recommendations will be presented to the Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee by Nov. 1.
