U.S. Representative Tlaib has made history as the first Muslim woman ever elected to the Michigan Legislature, one of the first two Muslim women in the U.S. Congress, and the first Palestinian-American woman to serve in Congress. As a long-time activist, Rashida partners with grassroots groups on the ground to help craft policy and make a difference in her constituents’ lives today.
U.S. Representative Balint is the first woman and openly LGBTQ+ person to represent Vermont in Congress. As the daughter of a working-class mother and immigrant father, Becca is deeply committed to defending American democracy and protecting vulnerable communities. She believes that even in the face of immense challenges, we cannot back away from fighting for each other and building connections across differences. That is how we will save our democracy.
Tennessee State Representative Jones is an activist, educator, and community organizer in Nashville. He ran for office because he got tired of asking lawmakers to meet with their constituents and fight for change, and knew that he could serve the people whose voices were not being heard. A tireless activist for racial justice, Justin Jones garnered national headlines when he was expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2023 for protesting the priority of protecting guns over the lives of children after the Covenant School Shooting. Since then, he was appointed to and then successfully ran for the seat he was once expelled from.
