Let’s make sure impeachment is a top priority in September.
John,
Two weeks ago, we hand-delivered to the offices of House Judiciary Committee Chair Rep. Jim Jordan and Ranking Member Rep. Jamie Raskin our petition calling on Congress to impeach and remove Trump.
With your help, Free Speech For People and Women’s March have collected nearly 1 MILLION signers for our petition. We are showing that Americans across the country refuse to allow Trump and his allies to destroy our democracy. But this is just the beginning.
Now our representatives are back in the district for the August recess, and they need to answer to us.
The Congressional August recess is a month-long break for members of the US House to return to their districts and engage with their constituents through town halls and public events. Constituents have the chance to communicate to their representatives what they would like them to prioritize and take action on. It can be a time for accountability and feedback.
Donald Trump has violated the Constitution and committed multiple high crimes. The appropriate response to his actions, outlined in the Constitution, is the impeachment and removal process, a responsibility of Congress. We need Congress to do its job and hold Trump accountable with impeachment. The August recess is an opportunity for us to make that message clear to Members of Congress.
