I’m going to say something that may sound a little taboo coming from a Democrat, but I think you’ll agree:

As Democrats, we have to get out of our comfort zone.

Listen, I represent one of the most competitive districts in the entire country, so I understand swing voters. And despite what the political pundits may think, swing voters don’t want us to stay silent on every controversial issue, terrified that our position could upset someone.

They want us to show backbone, even if it makes some people angry.

I’ve never been one of those politicians who cares more about the so-called “political backlash” than doing the right thing. If you believe THAT’S the kind of leadership that wins elections, will you chip in to help me defend my ultra-competitive district from MAGA Republicans and their billionaire allies?

If 2024 taught us one thing, it’s this: We can’t expect voters to support us if we’re too scared to speak our minds — if we’re too concerned about being “the lesser of two evils” than standing up for what we believe in.

As Democrats, we can’t be afraid. We HAVE to show the American people we’re willing to be bold, decisive — and yes, antagonizing when we need to be. If we don’t, we’ll be handing MAGA Republicans another two years of power in Washington.
