Members of Congress just passed a bill that slashes funding for SNAP
(the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) - making it
harder for families to afford groceries and keep kids nourished and
healthy. Now, they're returning back home for August recess
while millions of kids continue facing food insecurity.
But that doesn't mean we're letting up in our fight to
protect SNAP. In fact, this is a crucial moment to speak up.
Lawmakers are still making critical decisions about federal funding
for programs like SNAP, WIC and school meals - decisions that
could impact children and our communities for years to come. That
means, from now until the end of August, your voice can make a real
difference.
