TRUMP TO NRA CHIEF: Universal background checks are off the table
 
 
I have no more words. I only have anger.
 
Only a few weeks ago, I watched Donald Trump address our grieving country -- he pledged to take action on gun violence. Finally.
 
But behind our backs, he personally assured the NRA’s chief that “universal background checks are off the table.”
 
I have never been more certain of anything:
 
President Trump -- and every Republican who cowers before the NRA -- is unfit and undeserving of the office they hold.
 
I'm working my heart out with groups like Latino Victory to elect strong Democrats who will finally take a stand against this country’s horrific gun violence epidemic.
 
We don’t need to match the NRA dollar for dollar. But with 5,000 gifts before midnight, I know we’ll be able to fight back with a vengeance.
 
I’m personally asking. Will you rush $15 before midnight to elect strong Democrats who will fight the NRA?
