Join Brooklyn Young Dems (BYD) Pretty Informed Girls (PIG) ([link removed]) for a post-primary BYD Women's Caucus happy hour! Come meet women/gender expansive folx in Brooklyn who ALSO care about progressive politics and fighting fascism and uplifting local women candidates for elected office.
We'll be catching up on the work done for the June primary, meeting some of the candidates who were and will be on the ballot in November, and offering opportunities to get involved between now and the general election.
We'll be joined by Kayla Santosuosso ([link removed]) , candidate for Council in District 47, and other special guests!
We still have lots of work to do and that starts with building community in our own neighborhoods.

** What’s next for our endorsed candidates?

After taking some much needed rest, many of our candidates are hitting the campaign trail once again, this time with even more energy.
Down in Council District 47, Kayla Santosuosso ([link removed]) faces a critical election against the leader of the Brooklyn Republican Party. After 8 years of Council Member Brannan’s leadership in the District, Republicans are eager to get this seat back.
Of course, we’re still shouting loudly against Cuomo, and fighting tooth and nail to support Zohran Mamdani ([link removed]) in his campaign for Mayor.
Our candidates need BYD’s energy to get them to finish line. Stay tuned for opportunities to volunteer between now and Election Day!

Our July General Body Meeting at 390 Social was one of our biggest yet! The energy was palpable with so many faces both familiar and new. We were so happy to welcome a crowd together to recap the June Primary and run through what’s at stake in November!
