Here are four follow-up challenges we’re up against. - Democrats are already making six-figure political attacks against GOP supporters of the bill. Political opponents of the One Big Beautiful Bill are out there trying to undermine its implementation and make political life miserable for those who voted for it.
- As the law’s many provisions are implemented, special interests will bring court challenges that can stall or delay important policy changes. We’ve seen that with a whole host of President Trump’s executive orders and regulatory changes since he took office, and we can expect more of the same as he tries to execute this new law.
- And then there is the problem of regulatory capture, where the industry being regulated exercises control over the regulatory agency. Those agencies are supposed to be watching for us, but in this political climate, we have to watch the watchers.
- Furthermore, many One Big Beautiful Bill provisions will need additional legislative action to get the full benefit.
