I am back in the Big First traveling across Trego, Graham, Sheridan, Sherman, Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Phillips, Smith, Osborne, Rooks, and Saline counties meeting with Kansans from across the district. If you would like more information on what I am working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media., I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov Honoring Western Kansas Heritage I was honored to speak at the rededication of Stan Herd’s iconic stagecoach mural in downtown Dodge City. First painted in 1979 and now beautifully restored, the mural captures the grit, heritage, and spirit of western Kansas. Stan grew up in Protection, Kansas, and dedicated this project to his brother and family, who inspired him to tell the story of those who settled this region. As I said during the ceremony, Kansas has always been defined by hardworking people with a deep sense of resiliency and strong values, and this mural is a tribute to that legacy. The next morning, I joined thousands of Kansans for the Dodge City Days parade. This annual tradition brings folks together from across the state to celebrate everything we love about Kansas. Dodge City Days showcases our rural values, community pride, and rich agricultural history. It was great to be back in Dodge City to kick off the weekend and visit with so many families from the Big First. Thanks to everyone who made it such a memorable celebration. Celebrating a Kansas Ag Hero In July, I recognized Craig Polson of Marshall County as our Kansas Ag Hero of the Month. Craig has spent his life serving his country—first in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, and then through decades of work in Kansas agriculture. From the day he bought his first 160 acres while deployed on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam, Craig built a farming operation rooted in hard work, innovation, and family. His service didn’t stop at the fenceline. Craig has led efforts on international grain sorghum policy, opened global markets for U.S. agriculture, and supported conservation and veterans' efforts across our state. He continues to help with harvest and remains a dedicated voice for Kansas agriculture. Thank you, Craig, for your lifetime of service and the example you set for the Big First. Nomination Page Meetings of the Week Last week, I met with Kansans working in sectors all across our economy, including health care, agriculture, conservation, banking, public safety, and manufacturing. We discussed rural hospital access, energy production, law enforcement needs, and the future of our agricultural economy. I also had the honor of attending the deployment ceremony for the Kansas National Guard’s 130th Field Artillery Brigade in Manhattan. I am always grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from Kansans who are working hard to move our state and country forward. Thanks for the meetings!
