Our numbers will give dark money groups the first hint of how strong we are.

Friend --

When dark money PACs and special interests are trying to decide where to spend money, I can tell you the first place they look: quarterly fundraising reports from the Federal Election Commission.

If we had to file today, those groups would take our numbers as a sign that Dean is vulnerable in this election. We're a bit behind at the very moment we need to show our strength -- so we've set a goal of raising $30,000 by the public filing deadline.

Will you rush a contribution today to help us finish the quarter strong?

Dean will never take a dime from special interests, lobbyists, or PACs. In fact, one of the reasons he ran for Congress was to end their influence on our politics.

It's a worthy mission, but a risky one. It means that powerful groups have their eyes on Dean as they look to flip seats this year and keep Congress under their thumb.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) isn't even waiting until the end of the quarter to throw money into this race. Just a few days ago, they purchased more than $2.6 million in ads to run in the Twin Cities to defeat Dean.

To combat the NRCC's attacks and to finish the quarter on a high note, we've set a goal of raising $30,000 in the next four days. Will you step up to help us hit it?

Dean wouldn't be here without you.

We're grateful,

Jonah Van Why
Finance Director
