Donald Trump doesn’t want us to pay attention to this headline, but I won’t let him get off the hook:

NBC: “Trump fires labor statistics boss hours after the release of weak jobs report”

Last Friday, the latest in a string of weak jobs reports was released, showing the reality that too many Americans know firsthand – job growth has stalled, at a time when prices are rising and uncertainty is paralyzing American businesses.

Donald Trump didn’t like the numbers. But rather than do literally anything to stabilize our economy and spur job growth, he fired the person responsible for reporting the numbers.

Cooking the books won’t hide the truth: The American economy is struggling, and it’s a direct result of Trump’s policies. Quite frankly, this is another corrupt attack on independent data and a dangerous attempt to politicize a nonpartisan agency that Americans – and the world – rely on for critical information.

Trump has shown he’s willing to sacrifice American workers, families, and now even the integrity of our economic data in order to cover up the consequences of his disastrous policies. But I’m not going to stand by and let him get away with it.

We must flip the Senate blue, and that starts with holding this seat. So I’m asking, if you are in a position to donate right now, will you pitch in to help me win reelection, take back the Senate for Democrats, and put an end to Trump’s dangerous agenda?

For months now, experts and economists have been warning that Trump’s chaotic trade war and will-they-won’t-they tariff policies have left businesses reeling.

And who’s left holding the bag? American families. Prices on groceries, health care premiums, and everyday goods are higher, even as Trump and the GOP pay for tax cuts for the wealthy by gutting Medicaid and slashing food assistance for those who need it.
