Right now, Texas Republicans are rewriting the rules to give themselves an advantage.

But I have a news flash for Republicans in Texas: This is no longer the Wild West. We're not going to tolerate our democracy being stolen by a bunch of self-serving politicians.

Americans don't want a system that's stacked against them. They believe in fairness — it's fundamental.

That is why I welcomed the courageous Democratic Texas legislators to the New York State Capitol. These leaders have taken a bold stand against extreme Republican efforts to gerrymander their state to silence the voices of millions, especially Black and Latino communities in Texas.
