Citizens Alliance of New Hampshire is excited to share some exciting news with you – the hard work and dedication of our lawmakers is paying off in a major way!

We are proud to announce that 94 of our champion lawmakers have not only signed The Pledge but have also upheld their promises and are in Good Standing following the 2025 legislative session.

These dedicated lawmakers have stood firm in their commitment to the 10 principles inspired by the New Hampshire State Constitution’s Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights, defending the values that make our state the beacon of liberty it is today.

Their tireless efforts to uphold individual freedoms, parental rights, and limited government reflect the heart of our Live Free or Die state.

This session, our Pledge Champions achieved remarkable successes, passing legislation to protect families, reduce government overreach, and uphold fairness.

While some victories were signed into law, we want to highlight three critical bills that our Champions fought for and passed in both chambers, only to face vetoes from Governor Kelly Ayotte.

HB 148: Protecting Privacy and Fairness in Sports and Facilities

This bill, passed by the House and Senate, aimed to permit schools, businesses, and public facilities to classify individuals based on biological sex in settings like bathrooms, locker rooms, athletic competitions, and detention facilities.

HB 324: Shielding Children from Harmful Materials in Schools

HB 324, passed with strong support, sought to prohibit schools from exposing minors to obscene or harmful materials, empowering parents to challenge inappropriate content. This bill embodied our Pledge’s focus on parental authority and protecting minors, reinforcing the right to direct a child’s upbringing.

HB 358: Strengthening Religious Exemptions for Immunizations

This bill aimed to expand exemptions from childhood immunization requirements based on religious beliefs, reinforcing personal and parental freedom in medical decisions. Passed by both chambers, it reflected our Pledge’s commitment to individual liberty and freedom from government overreach.

While these vetoes are disappointing, they do not devalue the victories achieved in passing these bills through a legislature committed to our values.

The Republican majorities in the House and Senate lack a veto-proof supermajority, meaning a two-thirds vote to override was not possible.

Yet, the passage of HB 148, HB 324, and HB 358 signals strong support for our principles among lawmakers and voters alike.

Despite these vetoes, our Pledge Champions secured MAJOR victories that were signed into law.

✔️ The Parental Bill of Rights (HB10 and SB72), signed June 10, protects the fundamental rights of parents to make decisions regarding the care, custody, education, and medical treatment of their children.

✔️ The auto inspection sticker repeal, part of the state budget signed June 27, cuts unnecessary regulations and protects consumers from predatory practices at dealerships.

✔️ And SB 295, signed June 10, expands Education Freedom Accounts to all students, empowering families with school choice.

While the vetoes of HB 148, HB 324, and HB 358 are setbacks, they highlight the strength of our Champions in passing these bills and the need to elect even more liberty-minded leaders.

With 94 Pledge Champions standing strong, we’re closer than ever to a New Hampshire that fully embraces our constitutional values.
