In 1992 I joined the Army at age 17. Through both active duty and the Minnesota National Guard I was stationed around the world and saw many ways of life. After I returned from a deployment to Iraq in 2007, I knew I wanted to do something to help Veterans better their lives. I had the good fortune to be offered the opportunity to work for MDVA and assist Minnesota Veterans and their families.
In the 18 years since, I’ve held several roles—including Supervisor of the Tribal Veterans Service Officer Program, Deputy Director of Field Service Operations, and since 2023, Director of Veterans Education and Occupational Resources. Through these positions, I’ve had the privilege of assisting fellow Veterans as they transition out of active duty and into civilian life, helping them understand and use the education benefits they’ve earned to pursue higher learning and grow their careers.
Working at MDVA means advocating for those who’ve given up their freedoms to protect others—and for the families who stand behind them. That’s what drives me every day.
