There is no more important right than the right to vote. Many have fought and died to expand access to the ballot box for all Americans.

Recently, I learned of an effort to intimidate a young woman who was registering to vote right in my community. This was clearly an effort to ridicule this young lady’s political affiliation and adopt the rhetoric of elected officials, including the President, who label their opponents as outside the norm and treat them as enemies, unworthy of equal participation in our political process.

This young lady had the courage to file a complaint with the state for this clearly egregiously wrong conduct, ask for my help as a state legislator, and, most importantly, speak to the press. I am proud to stand with her in demanding an immediate investigation and appropriate consequences for this inappropriate conduct by a state employee.

In this critical moment, we must ask whether we all will stand up for our rights and Constitution. That is my commitment, but I need your help. Can you contribute what you can so that I can continue to fight for a Pennsylvania and America where all of us are secure in our constitutional rights, most importantly the right to vote?

Together, we can show we will not be intimidated, just like this courageous young lady, and ensure our rights are protected.
