This summer, we've been fighting President Trump's deeply unpopular law that "defunds" Planned Parenthood — and we have an update:
Last week, a federal judge blocked the "defunding" of Planned Parenthood from remaining in effect while the lawsuit proceeds. For now, patients can continue to use Medicaid at Planned Parenthood health centers.
The fight to make sure this court decision sticks and patients can still get care at Planned Parenthood health centers is going to be an uphill battle. Add your name to the People's Brief to show lawmakers that we won't back down in this fight.
"Defunding" Planned Parenthood isn't just unpopular — it's an unconstitutional attack that would make health care harder to get and more expensive. If Planned Parenthood health centers are "defunded," more than 1.1 million patients could be blocked from getting cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and treatment, and other essential services. As many as 200 non-profit Planned Parenthood health centers could be forced to close their doors.
That's why we need to show how many people support Planned Parenthood and the right to access high-quality, affordable health care.
