Thanks to one of Donald Trump’s executive orders, National Parks gift
shops are looking at removing books about slavery, the Civil War — and me.

That’s right. On their list is a children’s picture book about the day I
was sworn in as Secretary of the Interior. That day, I honored my Pueblo
pride by wearing my white moccasins and a handmade ribbon skirt adorned
with butterflies, stars, and corn.
Here’s what I have to say to Donald Trump…
Nice try.
Think about it. While Americans everywhere are struggling with an
affordability crisis, Donald Trump is raising prices, ripping away
healthcare, and taking food off their tables.
Trump’s not just failing to fix the crisis — he’s actively making
Americans’ lives more expensive. Just look at this NBC headline from last
week.

A Parks book ban is the Trump playbook in action: distract, distract,
distract. Whether you’re cheering on or booing the censorship, Trump wants
us arguing about what’s on the shelves of the National Parks gift shops —
not his administration’s assault on working families.
I refuse to take the bait. The stakes are just too high.
As a 35th-generation New Mexican, I know firsthand the struggles that New
Mexicans face. I understand what it's like to be a single mother, having
to decide between rent and groceries, struggling to keep a roof over your
head.
My campaign is about lowering costs, making rent and housing affordable,
strengthening our schools, and preventing crimes so that you feel safe
raising a family here. This is the future we all want and deserve for our
beautiful state.
I’m running to focus on the issues that matter. Our leaders shouldn’t
waste time on anything else.
So if you’re tired of the endless culture wars that do nothing to lower
our bills…I need you with me today:
[ [link removed] ]My campaign relies on grassroots donations of just $5 or $10 at a time.
I am humbly asking if you’ll make your
first donation today
to elect a governor who will fight for the people of New Mexico.

Be fierce,
Deb
P.S. Just because I’m not falling for the distractions doesn’t change who
I am. No matter where I go, I am a proud Pueblo woman first. I look
forward to rocking my mocs at my next inauguration as the first Native
American governor in the United States of America. [ [link removed] ]Chip in now to help
win this race and make history again.
