Straight from Politico: "A Senate committee voted to advance a bill that would ban stock trading by lawmakers, presidents and vice presidents — over objections from most Republicans and with a limited carve-out for President Donald Trump."

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) introduced a bill barring members of Congress and their spouses from trading stocks. Hawley joined every Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, voting to send the bill to the full Senate. It is unknown when, or if, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) will bring it up for a vote on final passage.
