But before you respond, I want to tell you why I love Michigan – and why I’m running for U.S. Senate.
FIRST, I was born and raised right here in Michigan. My parents ran a landscaping business, so I grew up surrounded by grit, grease, and hard work. That upbringing shaped me – it truly taught me the value of hard work – and it’s why I’ve made it my life’s calling to fight for Michigan’s working families.
THEN, I served as chief of staff on President Obama’s Auto Rescue Task Force during the Great Recession – helping save more than 200,000 Michigan jobs. And in 2018, I flipped a red House seat blue and helped Democrats take back the majority in a crucial midterm year.
NOW, I’m running for Senate, and the stakes couldn’t be higher: Michigan’s open seat will determine who controls the Senate, and multiple polls show I’m the only Democrat consistently beating MAGA Republican Mike Rogers. But this race is still considered a pure Toss Up, and we need grassroots momentum to win.
