I’ve said it before and I’ll say it now — America doesn’t suffer from scarcity, we suffer from greed.

Republican Rep. Mike Flood says we don’t have “unlimited money” to fund food assistance (SNAP) or health care research.

So why did he vote to cut taxes for the top 1% to the tune of $1 trillion?

If Republicans like him really care about government spending, why did they just vote to add almost $4 trillion to the national debt?

The truth is, programs like SNAP are drops in the bucket compared to these huge billionaire tax breaks. But Republicans cut them anyway because they’re cruel. They don’t think working families deserve a helping hand.

And when their own constituents have questions about why their healthcare coverage and food assistance are being cut, Republicans turn out their pockets, shrug their shoulders, and say dumb things like “well we don’t have unlimited money!”

So let me amend Rep. Floods’ statement for him. What he means to say is that we don’t have unlimited money for healthcare, housing, food, and education for the American people, but we do seem to have unlimited money for tax cuts for billionaires, endless wars, and subsidizing mega-corporations.

I’m running for reelection because I know that in the richest nation in the history of the world, we have more than enough to take care of our own. We just have to choose to prioritize working families over billionaire donors.

If you agree, chip in to my reelection fund today. $5. or whatever you can afford helps us continue to go on offense and hold Republicans accountable for their disastrous agenda that is hurting Americans in every state and every district across the country.
