This is EXTREMELY overdue, friends: For the first time in almost 30 years, members of Congress will vote on making Washington, D.C. a state TODAY.

When politicians talk about "Washington," they usually just mean the few blocks where government buildings sit. But more than 700,000 people live, work, and pay taxes in D.C.

Trump has admitted he's against D.C. statehood because he thinks it will add more Democratic senators who might vote against his agenda. And as we're fighting against police brutality and racial inequities across the country, it is unconscionable that D.C. residents - a majority of whom are people of color - continue to be denied representation in Congress.

A coalition of 21 Democratic Attorneys General are leading the way in support of statehood - and all eyes will be on today's vote. But we need to know where YOU stand, and it has to be before this vote. So please, right now, hurry and sign our petition in support of D.C. statehood!
