3M Oakdale Surface Water Diversion Project [ [link removed] ]
*Location (city/township; county): *Oakdale; Washington
*Process: *EAW
*Step: *EIS need decision
**Responsible governmental unit decision: **Negative (no EIS ordered)
*Responsible governmental unit record of decision date: *July 18, 2025
*Project description: *3M Chemical Operations is proposing a project to collect surface water upstream of the Abresch Disposal Site, to reduce polyfluoroalkyl substances in stormwater discharge from the site. The Abresch Site is the largest of three former disposal sites that comprise the Oakdale Disposal Site, a state and federal superfund site. The project is proposed to further reduce PFAS impacts to stormwater discharge from the site. The proposed project would collect surface water upstream of the site and divert it in a 0.74-mile-long surface water conveyance pipe to a three-acre flood retention basin, where water would then be re-introduced into the natural flow of the watershed. The conveyance pipe would bypass the Abresch Disposal Site, thus bypassing PFAS detected within the site. This would reduce the discharge of PFAS in surface water and improve downstream surface water quality in the Twin Cities east metropolitan area.

CSAH 6 Grade Raise Project [ [link removed] ]
*Location (city/township; county): *Parkers Prairie Township; Otter Tail
*Process: *EAW
*Step: *EIS need decision
**Responsible governmental unit decision: **Negative (no EIS ordered)
*Responsible governmental unit record of decision date: *July 22, 2025
*Project description: *Otter Tail County is proposing to increase the grade of CSAH 6 as it crosses Nelson Lake near Parkers Prairie in Otter Tail County, MN. Nelson Lake water levels have risen and remained high for several years resulting in overtopping CSAH 6. The flooding has been extensive enough to result in road closures for public safety. The road will be designed to prevent flooding of CSAH 6 that causes infrastructure damage, road closures, and public safety problems while meeting current design standards and requirements. The grade raise that is proposed ranges between 1 and 3 feet from top of current grade.
