This month, I have the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the district, speaking with constituents, attending events, and enjoying the last bit of Michigan summertime.

Now more than ever before, I feel it’s important to speak to residents in the district and listen to their concerns regarding the actions taken by Republicans and explain what I will do for them in Congress.

I know how important it is to listen to each and every person, and I make myself available to have these important conversations by attending farmers’ markets, roundtable events, parades, and so much more.

Over the weekend, I attended Ann Arbor Pride, where I celebrated and stood with the LGBTQIA+ community, celebrating the progress we’ve made and reaffirming our shared work to ensure everyone has the freedom to live authentically and safely.

I will continue to fight for equality for everyone regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or class. It’s up to us not to back down to the threats made by President Trump and the GOP that specifically target the LGBTQIA+ community and endanger their rights as citizens of this country.
