[link removed] [[link removed]] John,Last week, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, which includes Minnesota, stripped away a key protection in the Voting Rights Act.
The court ruled that private citizens can no longer sue under the section of the law that protects voters with disabilities and voters with limited English proficiency.
That means if your right to voting assistance is violated in Minnesota, you have no legal path to fight back.
You have my word: I’m going to keep fighting for the rights of every voter in Minnesota, regardless of ability or language, but I need your help. Please chip in $10 or more today to help us keep fighting for democracy. Chip in now → [[link removed]]

I’ve seen firsthand how vital this protection is.
A few years ago, our office successfully utilized this exact provision to reach a settlement that guaranteed in-person assistance at the polling place for all Minnesota voters.
We helped protect the right to vote for Minnesotans who needed support at the ballot box. Under this new ruling, that lawsuit would not have been allowed to move forward.
This is deeply disturbing. And it’s part of a broader, coordinated effort to chip away at the Voting Rights Act piece by piece.
We have to fight back, and I need your help. Will you chip in $10 or more right now to help us defend democracy and stand up for every voter in Minnesota? [[link removed]]
