You may be seeing a few more emails from me and my team than normal over the next few days as we approach our end-of-quarter deadline, so I wanted to take a moment to explain why your support right now is so meaningful to the future of our campaign. Every quarter, our campaign is required to file our public fundraising report with the FEC, and the deadline for this quarter is June 30 -- which is just a few days away. When our fundraising numbers become public for all to see, our opponent, political pundits, and the media will be looking to measure the strength of our grassroots campaign. Earlier this week, we shared that the election forecasters at Elections Daily recently rated our race as a pure TOSS-UP because they know this grassroots team has what it takes to flip this seat blue. This FEC deadline is our best opportunity to prove to the rest of the world just how competitive this race will be. So we’ve set an online fundraising goal of $15,000 by June 30th to build on the momentum of this TOSS-UP rating and ensure that we’re in the strongest position possible when we file our public fundraising report. This is our most important fundraising deadline to date, so I wanted to come to you directly. If you can, will you consider pitching in any amount ahead of this critical deadline for our campaign?
I am proud to reject all corporate PAC money in this race and fight to give power back to the people of Missouri’s Second District. But that means I’m counting on you, friend, to help meet this goal and showcase how strong this people-powered campaign truly is. Please, if you’re able, will you consider chipping in $5, $25, or whatever makes sense for you to help us meet this important goal?
--Jill P.S. I know this is a difficult time for many, which is why I'm working harder than ever to bring positive change to Washington. I hope you'll consider donating to our campaign only if you can afford to do so. Above all else, take care of yourself and your friends, family, and neighbors. I know I am not alone when I say, our hearts go out to the people who are doing the hard work of caring for us: in the hospitals, in our stores, by delivering our mail, providing care and being there for emergencies. This is a time where we stand together by staying apart, and work together for good outcomes for today and the future.
