Happy Gilmore movie related GIF highlighting Subway cruelty

Hens deserve better. And so does Happy Gilmore.

Friends, isn’t it a bummer when something (or some company) ruins a funny movie … with animal cruelty?

Well, that’s exactly what’s happening with the new Happy Gilmore movie coming out this month. Subway is back as a Netflix partner and Happy’s sponsor in the movie, and we’re really thinking that Happy Gilmore fans, Subway customers, and the millions of hens suffering in cages deserve a whole lot better.

In that spirit, we’re sending Subway a little reminder that there is no amount of clever branding or marketing they can produce to compensate for their endless silence on the use of cruel animal confinement and cages.

Ten years ago, Subway committed to sparing hens from cruel cages by the end of 2025. We’ve asked the company again and again and again to report on its progress. And we’ve received nothing but silence. Let’s tell Subway executives how we feel about that.

we’re not happy

We know you won’t be distracted by clever marketing tactics, and we won’t either. Subway can keep its “Unhappy” Gilmore Meal. We want answers, not a bag of chips and a drink to go with animal cruelty.

P.S. Tell Subway it’s shanking its cage-free commitment to customers and you’re not having any of it. Happy Gilmore deserves better, and so do hens.
