We have some good news and some bad news.

First the good news -- We’re proud to report that we had a great pre-primary filing, and we’re now heading into July in a strong position. We couldn’t have done it without you, so thank you.

Now the bad news -- Our campaign’s biggest test yet is just around the corner. Unfortunately, we’re already being hit with another big deadline. This time, it’s a quarterly reporting deadline to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), and it’s the most important deadline for any campaign at any point yet this year. It’s nothing this team hasn’t done before, but, if we’re going to stay strong through this next deadline, we need everyone on this team to step up in a big way.

To stay in a strong position, we have set a goal to raise $18,400 by Tuesday. And if we know one thing, it’s that this grassroots team will rise to the occasion to help us meet it at this critical moment in the campaign.

We won’t sugarcoat it, John -- our dark money funded opponents will be watching our fundraising closely as the race is transitioning into its most critical stage.

The truth is simple. The dark money groups who are opposing us don’t have to rely on grassroots supporters like you. These deadlines aren’t a huge deal when you’re bankrolled by special interest groups and funded by extremely wealthy donors.

Jared has rejected those groups, which means that he’s counting on all of you to show our opponents that all the dark money in the world has nothing on the power of this grassroots team.
