John–
Congress has the chance to take an important step forward in stopping police brutality and gun violence. The House passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act yesterday. Now it's time for the Senate to do the same. Tell your U.S. Senators to pass the Justice in Policing Act.
The Justice in Policing Act is a long overdue bill that will work to address police violence, racism, and white supremacy in this country. Among other things, it will empower state officials to hold local police accountable for abuse and discrimination, improve data that tracks officer misconduct, and work to demilitarize the police. While the federal government only has so much control over how state and city police govern, the Justice in Policing Act would help move our country closer to creating an America where Black lives matter and Black people receive justice.
The U.S. House just passed it. But now we need the Senate to act and do the same.
John, tell your Senators to pass the Justice in Policing Act.
Thank you for taking action.
