Dear John xxxxxx,

First and foremost, from everyone at The Opportunity Agenda, we hope that you and yours are safe and healthy. These are extraordinary times. The pandemic is still coursing through communities, and uprisings for Black lives and racial justice continue worldwide.

In this context, and always, the words we use and the stories we tell about Covid-19, about race, about the police, about safety and fairness, matter. It is crucial that the words we use and the stories we tell – that the narratives we embrace – move us toward justice and opportunity for all. The Opportunity Agenda works to create and uplift these narratives of safety, community, and opportunity.

You can be part of this work.

Over the past several months, we have developed communications tools for talking about COVID-19 and its disproportionate effect on communities of color. And we have provided research-based recommendations and reports on how to talk effectively about racism, racial profiling, poverty, policing – and more – in ways that further narratives of justice and dignity for all. Visit our site to learn about tools for shifting the narrative and to support The Opportunity Agenda with a contribution now.

Working across the country – with partners like Color of Change, JLUSA, United We Dream, Safe and Just Michigan, Caring Across Generations, ACLU, Amplifier, Pop Culture Collaborative, and many more -- we develop communications research and cultural strategies, create messaging tools, and provide training for advocates, activists, and social justice organizations. We advise corporate leaders who share our values and offer support to leaders of all backgrounds who are committed to uplifting and advancing narratives of justice.

This is the work that moves hearts, minds, and policy to drive lasting change. The Opportunity Agenda stands ready to support our partners and allies working on the front lines of racial and social justice movements with tools to amplify their stories and their impact. Won’t you join us?

I invite you to learn more about The Opportunity Agenda, to begin using the communications ideas and tools available free of charge, and to do your part to spread the new narratives we need to achieve #JusticeOutLoud.

In Gratitude Toward Justice,

Ellen Buchman
President
