Ghazala’s story is the kind of story that could only happen in our great country.
She immigrated to the United States with her family as a child, attended public schools and graduated top of her class, went to college and earned a PhD, and spent decades as an educator while raising her family in Richmond.
When she saw how, for many, the American dream that made her own life possible was slipping away, she ran for public office — to give back to her community and build a better future for all.
Now, after serving our Commonwealth for years as a State Senator, she’s running to be the next Lieutenant Governor and take her hopeful, results-oriented vision statewide.
