I was on CNBC this morning talking about how costs have skyrocketed since Trump took office. It’s a pretty simple fact. They have.

That seemed to have struck a chord for Trump. He took to Truth Social to rant about what I had to say — posting not once, not twice, but three times about it — and insisting that he has lowered costs.

For someone who started a social media company called “Truth” Social, Trump seems to be pretty allergic to it.

But, whether he likes it or not, here’s the truth: Trump ran for office saying he'd lower costs on Day One. Fast forward to today, and the cost of groceries is up. The cost of housing is up. The cost of health care is up. Inflation is up.

And where is Donald Trump? He's passing a signature bill to throw 17 million people off their health care so he can do tax cuts for billionaires. He’s posting about me instead of doing anything about the affordability crisis.

I’m going to keep calling out Trump’s broken promises and fight for policies that will actually lower costs for American families. If you support this fight, then please chip in today to fund our grassroots-powered movement.

Republicans love to talk about “facts over feelings”, but then they tantrum every time they hear a fact they don’t like. And Trump takes it to an extreme:

Deleting climate change reports.
Detaining students for writing op-eds.
Defunding or suing broadcasters and talk show hosts.

Trump’s latest anti-truth rampage came last week, when he fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) after they released jobs data that he didn’t like.

This is very dangerous. The BLS is a fact-finding agency that reports about market conditions and the labor force. That’s pretty important, especially when the president has been hurtling our economy into a recession since he took office.

But after BLS published disappointing job numbers on Friday, Trump called the report “rigged”, claimed the numbers were politically motivated, and fired the BLS commissioner.

Trump thinks that if the head of the BLS or if I share something factual about his economy, he can just attack the messenger and the truth will go away. He thinks he can bend reality and tell a different story that everyone will just believe.

Sorry Donald, but that’s not happening.

I’ll never stop speaking truth to power, no matter how many deranged Truths the president wants to post about me. Trump thinks he can run the country like a wannabe dictator, but I won’t back down. Say you’re with me in this fight by making a donation of any amount today.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
