ADL expressed deep alarm over reports and videos from Syria's Al-Suwayda region showing brutal violence targeting members of the Druze community—including beatings, humiliation, and executions—reportedly carried out by groups affiliated with the Syrian government. ADL called on the international community to use all available diplomatic tools to protect the Druze and other minorities across Syria.
While in Israel, Nicole Mutchnik, ADL’s Board Chair, and Marina Rosenberg, SVP for International Affairs, joined a meeting with Sheikh Tarif, the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel, and other Druze leaders to express solidarity and support. In addition, Aykan Erdemir, Senior Director for Global Research and Diplomacy, co-authored an op-ed
