Here’s what my billionaire opponent just said about me:
“She’s a school teacher. What does she know about running anything?”
I’m not insulted that the guy attacked me–after cutting a $10 million check to his own campaign no less!
But it really bothers me to hear yet another politician belittle the work teachers all across California do.
From running a classroom and after-school activities, to running parent-teacher conferences and PTA meetings, teachers know a hell of a lot more about what’s going on with California families than this guy does.
Our next governor should be someone who understands the challenges families face and is ready to take them on.
I’ve taken on powerful interests throughout my career in public service. I took on the Big Banks in the wake of the mortgage foreclosure crisis and held the Trump Administration accountable as a Member of Congress.
Our next Governor has to take on our affordability crisis and make it easier for California teachers, and everyone, to live here. From home prices to groceries, everything here is too expensive and I feel it too.
My opponent may think “a school teacher” isn’t up for the job–but we know that’s exactly the kind of leader California needs.
