It's not every day the president of the United States tells you to "go to hell," but in this case, I’m proud of it.

Why did he say it? Because Donald Trump tried to steamroll the Senate with a wave of historically unqualified nominees and Senate Democrats wouldn’t let him.

Trump desperately wants a deal to speed more of his flawed, unqualified, and downright dangerous nominees through the Senate.

I made a reasonable counter-offer: If the president starts nominating competent, qualified individuals – not extremist ideologues – Democrats will fulfill our constitutional duty to give advice and consent.

He refused the deal – and now he’s furious. But Democrats stood strong, and Trump got nothing.

Now, he's trying to change the rules and further break the Senate to force his extremist nominees through. If we want to stop Trump’s out-of-control administration, we need to take back the Senate majority.
