Washing clothes, changing diapers, you name it. Being a mom to two young boys means early mornings and late nights with no clock outs and no shift changes. It’s a 24/7 job on top of being a member of Congress.
This institution wasn’t built for women and young parents like Brittany. Even today, Congress is still dominated by wealthy, older men — just as it was 200 years ago.
And that’s exactly why so many of those in power are woefully out-of-touch with the realities and the needs of everyday families.

Across the country, working families are making tough decisions about where to find safe, affordable child care, how to balance long work hours and family responsibilities, and how to afford the rising costs of housing, groceries, and everyday essentials.
