Hi friend —
State Representative Brian Munroe (Bucks County) delivered a major win for Pennsylvanians. His bill — HB 1261 — to ban toxic PFAS-based firefighting foam passed the PA House with unanimous support.
PFAS “forever chemicals” are dangerous, man-made chemicals linked to cancer, autoimmune disorders, and thyroid disease. They’ve been used for decades in industrial, agricultural, and commercial products — but one of the most alarming uses is in Class B firefighting foam, especially at military sites like the Air National Guard Base in Horsham.
The result? The base’s neighboring community, Warminster, has one of the highest concentrations of PFAS contamination in the country.
Rep. Munroe, a Navy veteran and former firefighter who is all too familiar with the battle against cancer, knows what’s at stake. His leadership on HB 1261 is a critical step toward cleaning up our communities and protecting public health. |
