Friend,

Efforts to entrench power through partisan gerrymandering are deeply undemocratic—and the newly proposed redistricting maps in Texas are a stark reminder that some political leaders would rather choose their voters than earn their votes.

But at Vote Forward, we believe that when every voice is heard at the ballot box, it means everyone is represented in our democracy. And it also makes it harder to draw unfair maps without accountability.

That’s one more reason why our work to maximize voter turnout in key races, including [this year’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court election]([link removed]), is so essential.

In 2018, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down the state’s congressional map due to unconstitutional gerrymandering, paving the way for fair maps and fair elections in the future.

The outcome of this year’s race to retain 3 sitting justices could shape future rulings on election law and voting rights in one of the country’s most pivotal battleground states. It could also decide whether the state’s elections will continue to be held on fair maps, or if legislators will be allowed to follow Texas’s lead in gerrymandering their districts.

The Vote Forward community is already hard at work writing letters to voters in Pennsylvania ahead of this November’s election, and this year we’re even testing new tactics, like letters that invite the recipient to contact a group of trained volunteers.

But none of this work is possible without our volunteer community. [That’s why we’re asking you to sign up to write letters to Pennsylvania voters in this year’s pivotal state supreme court election.]([link removed])

[Take Action Now]([link removed])

Letter writing may seem like a small action, but rigorous testing shows it still has a measurable effect on turnout among key demographics. And by joining our letter writing campaign, you’ll also be helping us test new tactics that will shape the way voter contact is done in future elections, too.

So please, [sign up to write letters today]([link removed]) and help us preserve fairness in Pennsylvania and across the country.

Thank you,

The Vote Forward Team
