Hey there,

Joe Kennedy and I were elected to Congress two years apart to represent adjoining districts, just over the state line from each other. We have worked together on a number of issues in the years since – from manufacturing to climate change to civil rights – and he has become a good friend and trusted colleague.

That’s why I’m proud to endorse Joe for the U.S. Senate. In the House, Joe has been a true champion of justice and equality and a fighter for the people of Massachusetts. In the Senate, I know he will continue fighting to raise wages for working families, lower health care costs, and root out corruption in Washington.

But first, he is facing the final quarterly FEC fundraising deadline before the Massachusetts primary. Can you make a contribution before Tuesday to ensure he is able to keep up the fight and win big in September?

Joe and I have teamed up on quite a few issues over the past few years – from supporting the clean energy industry on our shared coastline to standing up to the Trump Administration’s assault on our democracy, I have seen firsthand the serious legislating Joe takes on and the difference his work makes for his community back home.

Joe has also been an unflinching ally in the struggle for full LGBTQ equality. When I introduced the Equality Act, he was a critical early supporter. His commitment to justice and equality is clear in his strong and passionate leadership of the Trans Equality Task Force and his authorship of other important legislation, like the Do No Harm Act.

And when Donald Trump comes for our immigrant neighbors, when families and small businesses struggle under the weight of the current Administration’s inaction on COVID-19, when corruption and ineptitude seem to overtake political life, when justice is delayed in the face of systemic racism and structural inequities – Joe is always one of the first to stand up, roll up his sleeves, and get to work to fix problems big and small.

I know he’ll make us proud in the Senate, which is why I’m asking you: Will you chip in before Joe’s critical deadline this Tuesday to ensure he can get his message out ahead of the primary?

Joe understands that “business as usual” just won’t cut it anymore – we need new leaders to bring us through this transformational moment in American history.

He has my full endorsement, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting his campaign today.

Thanks,

Rep. David Cicilline
