These community listening sessions are the start to the transformation of the Providence School Board; the new structure has allowed us a fresh start. You now have a school board that’s focused on what students will know or learn when they leave school. We still have lots of work to do to create one of the best school districts in the country, but this is the first step. The board has been focused on student outcomes and now we’re building goals that reflect the community's vision and values. Over the next few months, the board has over 17 community listening sessions and outreach events planned all across the city. At each of these events we’ll be talking to the community in the same format, about what students should know or learn when they leave school. Let me be clear, a third-party education governance team said we’ve set up these sessions in a manner that is the gold standard and if executed correctly will be a national model of how to conduct community listening sessions around student outcomes. I am excited to share that we are three for three in conducting community listening sessions that have been executed in a manner that could serve as a national model. We invite you to join us in our journey to transform the schools to serve student outcomes with the vision and values of the community. This survey is the same questions that are in the community listening sessions. If you didn’t make it to one of the first two listening sessions, catch us at one of the others. 📍8/4 AS220 Youth — 10:30am 📍8/5 Mt.
