John, did you see the news? Texas Democrats broke quorum to stop Donald Trump and Greg Abbott’s scheme to redraw Texas’ congressional maps mid-decade and steal five House seats.
At Trump’s order, Greg Abbott called a special legislative session to redraw Texas’ congressional districts—years before the next census. If they succeed, they could steal up to five Democratic-held seats from blue to red and hold on to the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Texas Democrats in the legislature are standing up for democracy and working to stop Trump and Abbott from rigging the system in their favor. They are breaking quorum in an attempt to deny Republicans the ability to pass these new maps.
