Donald Trump just tried to muscle the head of the Federal Reserve — on camera — because he didn’t like that interest rates weren’t being slashed for his political gain.

Jerome Powell stood his ground. Showed more spine than the entire Republican caucus combined.

But this isn’t a game. Trump is playing chicken with the economy. He’s threatening the independence of our central bank just to boost his reelection chances. If he wins, he’ll gut wages, hike prices, and make sure Wall Street eats while Main Street starves.
