You used to smile when you saw a rainbow.
It meant beauty. Peace. A promise from God.
Today? It means something very different.
Now the rainbow is a political weapon — one that demands silence, submission, and surrender.
It waves from our embassies. It decorates public school classrooms. It covers cereal boxes, sneakers, cartoons, police cars, and yes — even some churches.
But what most Americans don’t know is that this global symbol of “tolerance” began in hatred.
Hatred for Christianity. Hatred for God’s created order. Hatred for truth.
This September, Christian Action Network is pulling back the curtain in our new film:
Stolen Rainbow: The Great Unmasking.
And before we show it on Capitol Hill, I want you to understand why this film matters.
Not just for our culture. But for the survival of the Church.
A Symbol From Heaven — Now Used for Hell
In Genesis 9, God gave the rainbow to Noah as a divine covenant:
“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” (Genesis 9:13)
It was holy. Pure. A sign of God’s mercy after judgment.
But in 1978, a radical gay activist named Gilbert Baker sewed together his own rainbow — not as a tribute to God, but as a mockery of Him.
And Baker was no innocent artist.
He was a member of the grotesque drag group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence — infamous for their blasphemous parodies of Catholic nuns and their perverted “Hunky Jesus” Easter contests.
He once marched through San Francisco dressed as a “Pink Jesus,” declaring to the world that “Jesus is gay” and saying, “I’m all about working every last nerve of the Church.”
This is the man who designed the rainbow flag.
And today, that flag is flown over kindergarten classrooms.
It Started in Fire and Fury — Not Love
The rainbow movement didn’t begin in peace.
It began in violence.
The Stonewall riots of 1969 weren’t noble protests — they were a violent assault on police.
Rioting drag queens ripped a parking meter from the ground to use as a battering ram against a bar door. Firebombs were hurled. Police officers were beaten.
One rioter later said, “Our goal was to hurt those police. I wanted to kill those cops for the anger I had in me.”
That was the true spirit behind the first so-called “gay pride parade” in 1970 — a movement forged in rage, not reconciliation.
And ten years later, the flag designed by Baker — a man who celebrated crucifixes in jars of urine — became the official banner of that movement.
From Fringe to Fortress: The Rainbow Rises
What began in San Francisco soon took over the nation — and then the world.
In 1970, only 30 people marched in that city’s Gay Freedom Day Parade.
By 2019, it drew 1.8 million.
The flag Baker stitched together became a corporate logo, a political shield, and a moral sledgehammer used to batter anyone who stood in its way.
And the LGBTQ movement didn’t stop at demanding tolerance.
They demanded celebration. Then compliance. And now, punishment for all who resist.
Today:
Christian teachers are being fired for not using transgender pronouns.
Christian business owners are being sued for refusing to make pride cakes.
Christian children are being indoctrinated with gender ideology in school libraries.
Pastors are being investigated, churches labeled “hate groups,” and believers blacklisted.
This isn’t about “pride” anymore.
This is about power.
The Church Must Stop Looking Away
For too long, the Church has looked the other way.
We didn’t want to talk about it.
We didn’t want to seem unloving.
We didn’t want to offend.
But the rainbow flag isn’t just a flag anymore.
It’s become a false god.
And just like Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image, it demands everyone bow down — or burn.
We must not bow. Not now. Not ever.
Because the rainbow doesn’t belong to Gilbert Baker.
It doesn’t belong to Disney. Or Target. Or the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
It belongs to God.
And Stolen Rainbow: The Great Unmasking is our answer to that theft.
