Town centre spotlight: Newark

Newark is a bustling market town rich in history and culture, situated close to the A1 and with direct transport links to Nottingham and across the region.
Attractions include the imposing Newark Castle overlooking the River Trent, The National Civil War Centre, Palace Theatre and Newark Royal Market, with plenty of historic trails and beautiful walks reflecting the town’s historical significance.
Newark has a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, museums and galleries to enjoy. Newark on Sea and The Festival of Food will be taking place until Sunday 17 August.
